In August 2008, some missionaries, after 12 years of work among the Kanuri in Northern Nigeria, baptized their first Kanuri believer. On the day of his baptism, after watching a video of the “JESUS” film for the first time, AB asked the missionaries to pray with him by name for the salvation of his mother, eight of his siblings, his favorite schoolteacher, and his very best friend. Almost immediately, AB began telling his 20-year-old friend about Jesus and praying diligently for him to believe. On numerous occasions, he felt that his friend was very close to giving his life to Christ. Last month, however, his friend became sick and died within 24 hours. This has been a very difficult thing for AB to understand. Please pray for AB’s peace of heart, and ask that his faith in Jesus will not waver. Join him in praying for the salvation of his other loved ones, for which he is so concerned. Pray that God will give Christians here a sense of urgency to share Christ with the Kanuri, and ask that God will give the Kanuri the grace to hear, believe and quickly receive Jesus. http://imb.org/main/pray/
